Doing The Happy Dance -- Juried in to the California Art Club - SoPas Gallery Exhibit
We all have different goals, and one of my goals has been
to become a better artist. For whatever reason, part of how I decided to evaluate my progress toward that goal has been to be juried in to California Art Club Exhibitions. It is a benchmark that has not been easy to make progress toward. Last year the CAC began an association with the City Of South Pasadena. They co-sponsored a paintout open to everyone. Paintings from the show could be hung in the South Pasadena Community Center Library for a special event and those juried in were then selected for a show at the SoPas Gallery. Last year my friend Sharon Weaver and I each had a painting juried in. We both sold our work, too. I was delighted!
This exhibition is open to all categories of CAC members from the exclusive Artist Members to Associates, like me. We are all juried together.
My painting, "Welcome Home", was juried in to the SoPas Gallery THIS YEAR!!!! "Welcome Home" (previously titled Pleasant Portal) was the painting you bloggers gave the most votes to in the poll. YOU WERE RIGHT!!! Thank you so much!
Juried ExhibitionWorks displayed at the Collectors Preview will be juried into the exhibition at SoPas Gallery by John Moran of John Moran Antiques & Fine Art Auctioneer. The show, "South Pasadena - City of Trees" will be in SoPas Gallery throughout October, 2009
