I continue to work on checking off those goals I set for myself on the first of the year. I have to admit, though, that the easiest to reach has been the goal to paint more small format paintings. These are great fun for me because they can be done in such a relatively short time, thus providing me with instant gratification.

I received flowers recently and had them sitting in the kitchen where the sun swept through the window and lit parts of their cheery faces. I was entranced by the dance of the sun across the petals and tried to capture that in this little painting.
