Embracing The Majestic Oak

I was at King Gillette painting with friends when I saw this majestic oak tree in the field.  Although by the time my painting session was over, the sky that had so beautifully framed the oak was gone, I wanted to preserve it in this painting as I though it perfectly embraced the tree.

It felt essential to convey that moment of grounded presence beneath an expansive sky. The process was about balancing detail with energy, allowing the scene to breathe while holding onto the sense of place that drew me in.
