The first time I ever visited Tapia State Park I was invited by a well known artist whom I admire and her friend. It was in June and the spring flowers, the mustards and the grasses had all begun to dry but remained high and beautiful.. swaying in the slight breezes that flowed along the base of the mountains. I have visited the park several times since then, but have never been moved by the beauty of the place like I was that first time. I often wish I could paint with and learn from this artist more often as she is generous, talented and kind, but straightforward as well.
