Kern River Canyon

During the Tehachapi plein air paint out we had painted mostly around the city and nearby areas in the past.  This time I thought it would be fun to explore the area around the Kern River.  I had painted there in the past with friends, but it had been quite a while.  After stopping several times to explore, my friend Sharon and I found a spot we both liked.  I was entranced by the tawny colored mountainside.  There were so many rocks and, sadly the water level seemed to be low.  We stood by the side of the road and painted as quickly as we could.
